Yes, it uses LVM, and no, it was not encrypted. I wanted it to be
encrypted when I installed 16.04, but it turned out disk encryption is
not compatible with a raid array. Or if it is, there were bugs that made
it impossible to use both.

Title:
Upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04 crashed my computer

Status in ubuntu-release-upgrader package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I was running 18.04, I recently upgraded from 16.04, on my desktop
computer. I decided to upgrade to 20.04 not waiting for point release
because my computer kept crashing on a kernel issue when I was running
  Intellij Idea.

During the upgrade (do-release-upgrade) my computer crashed, after
restart it said it couldn't read a disk. It wouldn't start, it
wouldn't start with the previous kernel (4.15) nor with the pre-
  previous.

I haven't done a complete reinstall yet, I'm first backing up files,
to make sure the latest files are in the backup. Then I'll try some
more to get the thing running.

There is a bug nr 1874667 but I don't think that's the same: it says
"upgrade keeps crashing", I can't run the upgrade again because my pc
won't start at all, other than using an Ubuntu live disk (flash).

Please advise what I can do to fix the system, or what to do to
provide you with better info. I can't include files because I'm on
  another computer now.

The computer was on 4.15, I downloaded a new 20.04 today, that is 5.03 or something?
