  Funny thing was that all places clicked in the menu list started up
  vlc player.also in the images directory notification of usb devices
  0-7 which didn't show up with lsusb.i'm not the only one using the
  computer so that could be a dodgy pendrive??sorry guys that caught me
  by surprise and error report just came up while changing desktop from
  gnome (which seemed to be gnome/openbox) to lubuntu.grub2 has
  overwritten the old grub recognising only the windoze entry ignoring
  arch and lubuntu 10.10 beta entries.sorry for being that vague but i'm
  no guru amigos .have no clue what is going on.cheers
