Title:
keyboard layout detection chooses "variant" instead of "macbook" on a
  Macbook 6.1

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
Whilst covering the following test case
  (http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/testcases/1301/info), I
encountered a bug regarding the automatic keyboard layout selection. I
am using a Macbook 6.1 with a French keyboard and tried to install the
Ubuntu Trusty Final ISO proposed in the test case.

The automatic keyboard layout selector wrongly concludes that I am
using a French "variant" layout instead of the French "macbook" one.
This has no impact on the letter characters, but special characters
such as '-' or '/' are positionned differently.

I would expect the installer to guess the right keyboard layout
  straight away.
