Title:
Ubiquity in 13.10 daily build 12/10/2013 manual partition option
("Something else") makes installer window disappear
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
In Ubuntu 13.10 amd64 daily build ISO of 12/10/2013 when trying to
install ubuntu, installer works fine until arriving at the step of
choosing a partition for installation. When choosing the option
"Something else" to perform a manual partitioning and pressing next,
the installer window disappears and never reappears.
There is no relevant entry written in either /var/log/syslog or
/var/log/partman and the latter shows that the partitions were
detected properly and were printed out on the program itself. The
ubiquity process is still running in the background (verified by ps
-ef) but the installer window is gone permanently (while the title bar
is still shown at the top and when using the alt+tab shortcut). This
has happened both by directly installing ubuntu, or choosing try first
and then launching ubiquity both through dash and command line (with &
without sudo) as well as after removing the ubuntu-one sso pluging
from ubiquity.
