Title:
Please provide talking accessible bootloader
Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
you can hear a demonstration of the talking bootloader by going to www
{dot} lalrecordings {dot} com ... this bug exists across all versions
of Ubuntu... OpenSuse has a talking accessible bootloader that use
software speech cut down to 8k very bad sounding but useable. I would
like to see a full talking bootloader in all ubuntu versions
especially the one for gnome. I am blind and may have to use the
ubuntu bootloader both on line cd and when it is installed. OpenSuse
has it, there is no reason why Ubuntu cannot have a talking
bootloader. in OpenSuse, you know the boot menu is up by hearing a
short beep. press f9 to start the bootloader talking screen reader
that either uses ESpeak or .wav files cut down to 8khz. email me about
this at jkenn337 {at sign} gmail {dot} com
