Title:
automatic update destroyed my partitions
Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: grub2
After automatic update GRUB tried to install itself in sda, wich is not the right disk.
I use one hardware RAID 0 for Windows and another disk for Linux. I'm using the Windows boot manager to call GRUB in the Linux disk. Also, GRUB was installed correctly in the Linux disk during install, but to do so, I had to disconnect the RAID disks.
During the update, I was using the RAID disks connected and GRUB wrote itself there. Doing so, it destroyed my Windows partition and all my valuable data. Thank you.
As a sugestion, when updating GRUB, it should ask again for the disk
where it should be installed.
