Title:
  package grub-pc 1.98-1ubuntu7 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess
  installed post-installation script killed by signal (Terminated)

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub2

  dpkg seemed to hang on this package. I had to use "kill pidnum" to
  get the overall installation to continue. At this point, I have not
  rebooted (yet - I will as soon as I finish this).

  Ubuntu was launched with a Ubuntu 10.4 VMWARE appliance downloaded
  from VMWARE and VMWARE-tools had been installed prior to the Update
  Manager being invoked.

  The update manager tried to re-queue the package, but the same thing
  occurred.
