Title:
grub-probe fails if /dev/disk/by-uuid is missing

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
grub-probe can fail with 'grub-probe: error: cannot stat `/dev/disk
/by-uuid/xxxx`' if the mounted disk has had its UUID changed via
  'tune2fs'.

tune2fs caused the /dev/disk/by-uuid directory to update and the old
link to be removed, but the entries in /proc/self/mountinfo have not
  been updated.

This can cause fun and games when rebranding virtual machine disks
  created from images.
