  update-grub2 takes more than 30 mins everytime it is executed

Bug description:
  Since upgrade to 12.10 I have noticed that everytime update grub2 has
  been executed it takes more than 30 mins. It is very annoying. Please
  let me know how can I provide more details about the program problem.
