Title:
ubuntu won't start from hard reboot

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
if I cold boot via my computer's power button, Ubuntu 12.10 won't
start whereas 12.04 did. however, if I CTRL+ALT+DEL after Ubuntu was
supposed to have started, it restarts and shows the grub menu. after
  that, everything works as expected.

I used quantal's guided whole-disk encryption with a fresh install.
