Title:
  Live installer needs ETA display

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Using Hardy Alpha 5, i386:

  * Boot the live CD.
  * Click the Install icon.
  * Answer all questions so that file copying starts.

  Current behavior:

  * Files are copied. There's a progress bar that hardly moves. It is
  difficult to grasp how much time the installation will take.

  Expected behavior:

  * Files are copied. A progress bar and an ETA are displayed so that
  it is obvious how much time the installation will take.

  Notes:

  * If installation consists of several parts, you may want to have two
  progress bars; one over-all, and one for the current part. If the
  parts are short enough, this could be an alternative to the ETA;
  otherwise it could be a complement.

  * During the installation, it seems that some parts display their own
  ETAs, but since their relation to the overall installation process is
  un-obvious, they are just confusing.

  * If installation was much faster, no ETA would be needed :-).

  I estimate the progress-bar part of my install took about 15 minutes.
