Title:
Hard to understand warning message during manual partitioning
Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
While installing from the 8.04 beta desktop ISO, I received the
following message (as taken from /var/log/installer/partman) after
configuring partitions manually:
parted_server: OUT: File system is reporting the free space as 263138 clusters, not 270328 clusters.
parted_server: OUT:
parted_server: OUT: Ignore
parted_server: OUT: Cancel
parted_server: OUT:
parted_server: OUT: Time
/lib/partman/check.d/10check_basicfilesystems: error_handler: exception with type Warning
/lib/partman/check.d/10check_basicfilesystems: error_handler: reading message
/lib/partman/check.d/10check_basicfilesystems: paragraph: File system is reporting the free space as 263138 clusters, not 270328 clusters.
The actual error message "File system is reporting...." appeared as a
"Ignore"/"Cancel" dialog box. However, it does not include
information about which filesystem is being checked and what the
consequences of ignoring or canceling might be.
It would be nice to either suppress the message entirely or make it a
little more useful.
