This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If
this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us
know.

Bug description:
proceeding with install of 14.04.1 LTS and after it scanned for other
installations on the hard-drive the installer crashed when using
ubiquity for some reason. Wasn't sure even with command line running
what happened
