Title:
  Installer hangs right after GRUB screen [Ubuntu 19.04]

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  I wanted to try Ubuntu 19.04 on my new ASUS UX533 laptop, but it
  miserably failed right after selecting "Try Ubuntu" in the GRUB menu.

  - download the 64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop image and write it on a USB key with dd
  - boot the laptop from the USB key
    => the GRUB screen displays Ok
  - select "Try Ubuntu"
    => the GRUB screen disappears Ok
    => blank screen Ok
    => the system hangs there.... KO

  Same problem when selecting any of the options in the GRUB menu, even
  the "Safe graphics" ones.

  I suspected a problem with the NVidia GeForce MX150 graphics card, so
  I tried adding

    nomedeset
  or
    nouveau.modeset=0

  to the Linux command line, but it didn't work better.

  I tried (found on the internet) adding
    dis_ucode_ldr to the Linux command line
  and this worked!

  But obviously we need a proper fix.
