[Bug 1861537] Re: installer crashes when it is "creating partitions" or "calculating files to skip copying"

I downloaded another ISO via torrent again, and ran the "check disk for
errors" test (or was it check integrity? i cant remember now) and it
passed. Well, it crashed again at the same spot, and so I went and found
the md5sum for the ISO I downloaded and it didn't match.

Thanks for looking into this. I'll re download it again, until I get one
that matches, and after one does I'll run the installer again and see if
it crashes. If it does, I'll keep re writing it and running the verify
test and trying again.

Title:
installer crashes when it is "creating partitions" or "calculating
  files to skip copying"

Status in ubiquity package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I believe that the installer crashes at the points listed in the
title, but I cannot be for sure. But those are the things that it is
saying at the time it crashes.

If it is not listed, I am trying to install to a single NVMe drive,
and it is the only one. I am able to install Ubuntu (vanilla), but
Xubuntu and Kubuntu and KDE Neon do this same exact thing, with the
  same exact error.
