For what Ubuntu versions? If it's for 20.10 moving forward, it might be
good idea to drop it from the repo.

Status in python-apt package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I can't seem to find clear cut explanation why python-apt is missing
  from the repositories. AFAICT, there was a security release Dec 10th?
  If this was intentional or not, I'll leave this issue here, at least
  for those who run up against this issue and don't know why.

  Release:        20.10
