Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.
Bug reporting is mostly about finding & fixing problems thus preventing
future users from hitting the same bug.
I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg.
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your
problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community
http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or
https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at

Bug description:
At first, it reported possible problem with PPA, so I searched for
information about the ppa's and found references to ppa-purge, which
is not an installable app, after I tried sudo apt-get install ppa-
purge or ppapurge. Then I found an article that showed up to get to
the ppa list in the software updater tool. I did so; it sill cannot
calculate the upgrade.
I run about 6 different computers. This computer is a back up
computer, running Ubuntu 18:04 and I'm trying to upgrdae to 20:04.
On my main Linux computer, I'm running Pop!_OS. I have Ubuntu studio
on the computer I use for my radio show (www.baroqueandbeyondradio.com
or more simply bnbradio.com), and then have Microsuck Windows on a
desktop and laptop to connect to work via required VPN.
So, updating this computer is not urgent, but I would like to finish
an update.
