[Bug 1870431] Re: Ubuntu booting takes a long time when secure boot is enabled

What I'm noticing on 20.04 is that since the (fresh) installation and
enabling of secureboot, it takes well over 30 seconds before the LENOVO
logo is shown on my laptop. Before that, it's just black. Any key I
press during that time results in the black screen remaining
indefinitely.

Once the logo appears, booting is pretty fast.

I have not experienced (or perhaps noticed, since the screen remains
black for such a long time) that the system is booting twice on every
reboot.

Title:
Ubuntu booting takes a long time when secure boot is enabled

Status in linux-signed-hwe package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in mokutil package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The Linux kernel has issues when secure boot is enabled and PTT
  enabled.

For starters, it causes the machine to boot twice every time I
restart. In addition, the kernel and OS is just slow. This only
happened after installing Ubuntu with secure boot enabled, and MOK
  manager on.

The machine should boot once, load the signed modules and kernel
stuff, and load Ubuntu without issue.
