Title:
Distribution upgrade uninstalled TortoiseHG without asking me
Status in apt package in Ubuntu:
Opinion
Bug description:
I had TortoiseHG installed on my computer
https://tortoisehg.bitbucket.io/download/linux.html
After upgrading from Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04, then 19.10 and then 20.04
(I can't tell at what stage), it's GONE.
Never was I asked if I was fine with that.
I don't care if there's a conflict of packages or whatever, you don't
just uninstall software like that without asking me for confirmation.
And yes, at some point I guess I clicked Yes to something like "2387
packages will be installed, 8793 will be removed" or whatever. But if
you are going to uninstall an application that I installed manually
(as opposed to some library that I never chose to install), you have
to give a very specific warning and prompt, one that I can't easily
miss.
This is OUTRAGEOUS. Now I wonder how many other programs, that I don't
use that often (unlike THG with which I work on a daily basis) may be
gone.
