Ubuntu better.

This failure looks like it was caused by problems with your install
media.

Aug  6 00:20:42 ubuntu kernel: [  225.842849] SQUASHFS error: squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0xc002924

To me it looks like the media check passed

CasperMD5CheckResult: pass

yet media errors were still encountered during operation.

I would suggest writing your install ISO to different media and trying
again.
