  I am unable to check the checkmark next to "Canonical Partners" in the
  software-properties menu

  Whenever I attempt to click the "Canonical Partners" checkbox in the
  Other Sources section of Software Properties, the software ignores the
  clicks and the checkmark remains unchecked.
