Hmmm...I'm now thinking that maybe the auth dialog is still asking for
the password of the previous user? Need to test this when this happens
the next time.

Title:
Huge stack of credential dialogs when switching user
Status in update-manager package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Steps to reproduce (not 100% sure of this, but has happened multiple
times):
1) Have two user accounts
2) Login to desktop
3) Put the laptop to sleep etc for many hours
4) Login as a different user
What happens:
A dialog asking credentials for updates is opened. After accepting or
canceling the dialog a new one is immediately opened (or it already
was behind the topmost dialog). Sometimes you need to click cancel 50
times before the dialogs stop appearing. This also pauses the desktop
fade in animation and the animation proceeds gradually on each dialog.
This did not happen on 18.04 LTS.
I'll try to record a video of this, but it doesn't always happen or
depends on how long there has been between the user switch.
