Public bug reported:
Hello Util-Linux Team,
The following is what I was trying to do:
user at group:~$ sudo fdisk /dev/sda1
Command (m for help): p
The second line after entering "p" should show something like this:
"255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 497 cylinders, total 7997440 sectors"
However, this information is no longer available on Ubuntu 18.04.3. I
was originally using util-linux 2.31.1 (2.31.1-0.4ubuntu3.4 500). So, I
upgraded to util-linux 2.34-0 (2.34-0.1ubuntu2) and the problem is still
there.
For sanity sake, I VM'd an Ubuntu 14.04 which uses util-linux 2.20.1 and
tested that fdisk did work properly and produced the 'heads,
sectors/track, cylinders, total sectors' line.
Please let me know if this is something that can be fixed or re-added
into fdisk; or, of any other possible methods to produce such valuable
information in terminal.
Thank you for your time in attending to this problem.
** Affects: util-linux (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
