I've copied in the question I linked on stackoverflow. The current
instructions require you to build the code from source (though the code
is installed by git I think, it must be compiled.) The point here is
providing precompiled binaries.

Bug description:
  There's an upstream bug for this, however it seems like Ubuntu should
  provide a package even if Debian doesn't. Not sure what needs to
  happen to make this work. Seems relatively straightforward?
