Public bug reported:

I am using a bootable USB (Ubuntu 18.04) to install to my SSD, replacing
the previous openSUSE distro on the `/` mount point at /dev/sda3 (40.0
GB), including format as `ext4`. OpenSUSE Tumbleweed had main partition
formatted as `btrfs`.

Also trying to retain my existing `/home` partitition at /dev/sda2 (~80
GB), without reformat.

Currently dead in the water -- I no longer get a boot prompt from the
installed distro (dumps me into GRUB), so I can only boot from the USB.
