Public bug reported:

I wasn't watching the screen so didn't see any issues.

I know a `sudo apt dist-upgrade` was running with liferea window open &
I was away from screen; the machine hadn't been on for long but am happy
to provide more information from system if helpful.

The 'summary' is apport-created, and a very similar one is
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1794519 but it was
marked to a different package so I clicked 'no add new'

the box is x86_64, but install was x86 (needed it x86 for a kernel bug
test as this machine which would not boot qa-test daily-ISO's in x86;
`uname -a` shows 4.18.0-10 where I expected 4.15 so I failed to backout
later [test] kernel change sorry)
