Public bug reported:
During 18.04.2 iso testing, I have picked up the i386 Xubuntu isos for a
quick sanity-test on kvm. Even though the live-session tests have
succeeded (everything seemed to work as expected), I seem to be having
issues booting an installed system on kvm.
The Xubuntu system installed correctly. I have selected full-disk
installation and disabled downloading updates during install. Then I
have proceeded with trying to boot the installed system:
kvm -cdrom ~/bionic-desktop-i386.iso -drive
if=virtio,file=/home/sil2100/hdd.qcow2 -m 2048 -boot c -cpu kvm32
The boot process hangs on a black screen and blinking cursor. No splash
screen was visible. Tried installing twice and the result was the same.
