Title:
Bad behavior when no PID/program is specified.
Status in apport package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: apport
Run ubuntu-bug (with no command line options). It will present 5 radio
boxes. Select "Other problem." Click "OK".
ubuntu-bug will show a dialog that states "No package specified/You
need to specify a package or a PID See -- help for more information,"
and a Close button. There are no help buttons, and no man page.
In the dialog, the "--" is on a separate line from "help," so it is
not at all clear that this is a command line option (see attached
screenshot). From a user's perspective, ubuntu-bug dies, and there is
no indication as to what is going wrong, how to fix it, or how to get
more information. Even "run ubuntu-bug --help for more information"
would be useful, but more useful would be to give some sort of
appropriate well-defined behavior (e.g. ask the user for a file name
or package name).
