It works if I enter grub by pressing shift key during start up and
choose the earlier Kernel.

Pinned packages:

On starting the laptop, it freezes after the recent update. Using shift
key during start allows me to access GRUB and choose the earlier Kernel
and then it works.

Expected it to start without a hitch. Software is updated.
