artful is EOL. Please use the packages from the 18.04 LTS release.

Title:
  cross-toolchain-base version difference on artful(ubuntu-17.10)

Status in cross-toolchain-base package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  Hi,

I am building cross-toolchain-base-17ubuntu1 for arm64 and armhf
  architectures on artful.

At first when i try to install the crossbuild-essential-arm64, I am
  seeing following toolchain versions

  gcc - 7.2.0
  glibc - 2.24.9
  binutils - 2.29.1

But when i try to build cross-toolchain-base-17ubuntu1 on artful, I am
seeing following toolchain versions which is different from the above
  listed glibc version.

  gcc - 6.4.0
  glibc - 2.26
  binutils - 2.29.1

My query is that why there is change in glibc version observed between
the debian installed from essential-packages-list-amd64 and source
  debian from cross-toolchain-base-17ubuntu1.

  Could you clarify the same.

  Thanks & Regards,
  Kranthi.
