Public bug reported:
I've tried to disable some PPAs in the "Other Software" tab of software-
properties and whenever I check a box for the first time I get a message
in the terminal about "ERROR:root:Authentication canceled, changes have
not been saved" (although an authentication dialog has not appeared) and
the dialog box greys out. However, frequently upon clicking the box for
a second time (when it is greyed out) I am then presented with an
authentication dialog. This seems quite odd.
I've tested this the following versions of software-properties-gtk.
0.96.24.32.5 from bionic
0.26.27 from cosmic
