[Bug 1795544] [NEW] installer crashes at 95% or so

Public bug reported:

Installer starts normally and when it reaches 95% or so, the percentage
bar and percentage number disappear. After a few moments of this, 3 or 4
min. later I get the message that the installer has crashed, to send a
bug report and that a desktop session will be started to diagnose.
