To anyone affected by this issue,
We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all
reported bugs in a timely manner. This bug was reported in 2009 and
there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.
Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy) reached end-of-life on May 12, 2011.
Do you still see a problem related to the one that was reported in a
currently supported version of Ubuntu? I've tested aptitude 0.8.10 in
Ubuntu 18.04 and cannot reproduce the issue so perhaps the bug has now
been fixed?
Please let us know if you are still affected. Alternatively, this bug
report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.
Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
