Public bug reported:
I am trying to install Ubuntu 18.04 on my Asus N56vv laptop. I tried both USB 3 and USB 2 flash storage drives for installation and both failed. The installation fails at final step (installation of grub).
I have two SSD drives on /dev/sda and /dev/sdb . Disk /dev/sda has a MS Windows 10 with its boot loader. I tried to install Ubuntu on /dev/sdb1 and the boot loader on /dev/sdb (also tried /dev/sdb1) ,failed anyway. I don't want to touch /dev/sda , as it may ruin my Win 10 installation.
I had an Ubuntu 16.04 on /dev/sdb1 previously.
(I will try other things and update this thread.)
Maybe I'm doing something wrong (?)
