  Flashing text at bottom of grub menu

Status in grub2 package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Following updates to grub-common,grub-pc, grub-pc-bin and grub2-common
  I see the text at the bottom of the screen flashing just above in a
  different font. Simultaneously the font of the grub menu entries
  changes font.

  Small video attached showing the issue.

  Additionally - moving inside the grub menu is just wrong - video of
  that also attached

  See this in both virtual machines and on hardware.
