Public bug reported:

I just upgraded to 18.10 from 18.04.

aptitude stopped working, it immediately fails with the following single line error:

'aptitude: symbol lookup error: aptitude: undefined symbol: _ZN5boost6system16generic_categoryEv'

which is the symbol for boost::system::generic_category(), but libboost-system1.67.0 is installed.

** Affects: aptitude (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
