I have this problem with Kubuntu 18.10. I checked the permissions, and
the iso is owned by me and my group. Because I can't select the iso I
can't make a usable USB distribution stick. I am able to create USB
sticks on another computer running and earlier version of Linux Mint and
USB-creator.

Usb-creator does not select ISO for creating USB key

Status in usb-creator package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
I have just upgraded to Quantal Final from Precise.
I was trying to create a live USB key for testing, but Usb-creator does not select the ISO file I want to write on the USB key.
In the "Source disc image (.iso) or CD:" sectione When you select the "Other..." button, you browse to the directory where the ISO is, select it, but nothing appears in the box.
The "Make startup disk" does not become enabled.
I am unable to create a live USB key.
