[Bug 1785617] [NEW] gcc-multilib not installing libraries

Public bug reported:

Something seems wrong with the gcc-multilib. When trying to compile a
32bit app under my 64bit machine the linker complains about not finding
-lstdc++. I see that apparently /usr/lib/gcc/i686-linux-gnu/ only
contains the gcc-8 stuff, not gcc-7 which is the default.

Using Kubuntu 18.04

** Affects: gcc-defaults (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
