Public bug reported:

I launched the upgrade from Kubuntu 17.04 to 17.10 with the command-line :
kdesudo "do-release-upgrade -m desktop -f DistUpgradeViewKDE" as indicated on th site : https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ArtfulUpgrades/Kubuntu

System answer in the terminal before asking my credentials :

QInotifyFileSystemWatcherEngine::addPaths: inotify_add_watch failed: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type
QFileSystemWatcher: failed to add paths: /home/dominique/.config/ibus/bus
Bus::open: Can not get ibus-daemon's address. 
IBusInputContext::createInputContext: no connection to ibus-daemon

and after entering my password :
QStandardPaths: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set, defaulting to '/tmp/runtime-root'
QStandardPaths: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set, defaulting to '/tmp/runtime-root'


After starting upgrade (downloading files) : the following error message was displayed : impossible d'installer « kubuntu-desktop » (= unable to install "kubuntu-desktop") ...
