The junit package contains the version 3.8.2 which never included
hamcrest. The classpath was fixed in the version 4.8.2-2 of the junit4
package.

** Package changed: junit (Ubuntu) => junit4 (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: junit4 (Ubuntu)
       Status: Confirmed => Fix Released

Title:
  Junit on Ubuntu does not contain hamcrest and sets no classpath

Status in junit4 package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: junit

  Junit on Ubuntu and Debian does not contain hamcrest and sets no
  classpath in the manifest, causing breaks for users who not have
  hamcrest in the classpath by accident. Hamcrest is an indirect
  dependency via Junit.

  Workaround: Use
  https://github.com/downloads/KentBeck/junit/junit-4.9b2.jar containing
  hamcrest.
