Title:
  /etc/host.conf contains obsolete "order" option

Status in glibc package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  The "order" option in /etc/host.conf has been inoperative for years.
  It should no longer be included in host.conf on new installs.

  In Debian 7 the "order" line is no longer included.

  In Ubuntu 12.04:

  $ cat /etc/host.conf
  # The "order" line is only used by old versions of the C library.
  order hosts,bind
  multi on

  (In addition, the "order" option should no longer be documented in
  host.conf(5), but there is already a Debian bug report about that.)
