Yes, you are correct.
However the installer crashed.
Further, an explanation of the limitations, like the one you provided
above, would be nice to have in the installer.
I tried but could not boot the installer in BIOS mode - only the EFI USB
boot option was visible.

  Fails when installing GRUB
  I have had lots of boot problems before on this laptop.
