Public bug reported:
Update manager shows only the synopsis when prompting to update a package, without including the package name.
For example: "Educational games for small children".
...I have 10 packages installed with games for children. Why doesn't
update-manager just tell me that this is gcompris? The matter gets worse
if you take into account description translations.
Or, "interactive high-level object-oriented language (default version)".
Eh, I have 10 languages installed, just concatenate the package name,
e.g. "python: interactive high-level object-oriented language (default
version)" so that people know what they're updating!
Yes, it's possible to select a package, and then expand the technical
description, and finally you get to see the package name in the
changelog, but that doesn't help much when you need to do that for 30
packages. It should be seen in a glance inside the list box.
>From https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/#the-single-line-synopsis:
> Do not include the package name in the synopsis line. The display software knows how to display this already...
Please display it already! :)
