>From your upgrade log, something has the debconf database locked:

debconf: DbDriver "config": /var/cache/debconf/config.dat is locked by
another process: Resource temporarily unavailable

If that's still the case, try:

$ sudo fuser -v /var/cache/debconf/config.dat

Which should show you which process is holding the lock, and you can
either kill it, or go find it (maybe it's on another terminal?) and help
it along.  Then retry your upgrade.
