Title:
  serial console not set up by installer

Status in grub-installer package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: debian-installer

  Following an installation of 10.04 beta 2 from a serial console, the kernel command line argument required to direct its output to the serial port is not added. The system does configure `grub` and a `getty` on the serial port but I needed to add the following to the kernel command line arguments in the `grub` configuration:
      console=ttyS0,115200

  The main problem that this causes is that the output of the
  initialization scripts isn't shown on the serial console.

  Thanks for your attention,

  Rupert
