Public bug reported:
On a lubuntu next install I tried to install offline following this
testcase on an hp laptop that had previously worked with lubuntu and
secure boot.
ubiquity:
Installed: 17.10.2
Candidate: 17.10.2
Version table:
*** 17.10.2 500
500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu artful/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Description: Ubuntu Artful Aardvark (development branch)
Release: 17.10
I expected this install to work with secure boot like it should instead it did not install a signed version of grub so no bootloader points to the new install meaning the new install cannot immediately be booted into.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.10
Package: apport 2.20.6-0ubuntu4
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.11.0-10.15-generic 4.11.8
Uname: Linux 4.11.0-10-generic x86_64
ApportVersion: 2.20.6-0ubuntu4
Architecture: amd64
CasperVersion: 1.384
CurrentDesktop: LXQt
Date: Wed Jul 26 14:52:35 2017
LiveMediaBuild: Lubuntu-Next 17.10 "Artful Aardvark" - Alpha amd64 (20170725.1)
PackageArchitecture: all
SourcePackage: apport
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)
