You try to install Ubuntu in EFI mode, but you do not have an EFI-
System-Partition.

If you have Windows installed on the same disk, install Ubuntu in BIOS
mode to get a working dual boot.

  While installing ubuntu 16.04 alongside windows 10 i am not able to
  sucessfully install ubuntu. I am getting a grub installation error and
  it is failing to install on /
