  not possible to boot from a degraded raid1

Status in mdadm package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Small description, I have a RAID1 and unplugging one drive makes
  Ubuntu dropping to a busy shell claiming it can not find its md0 to
  boot neither by UUID nor by dev. Looking at /proc/mdstat the device is
  marked as not initialized, but still one drive is present for sure.

  I came across this nasty bug today. However I found a lot of
  discussions and other bugs, but I can not imagine it is still present
  in Ubuntu this way. So I want to file this bug just to wake up and see
  if it is possible to fix.
