  ttf-mscorefonts-installer fails download

Status in msttcorefonts package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 16.04

  Every day a popup pops up with the message that the ttf-mscorefonts-installer download fails and offers me a dialig if want to retry the download now.
  If I choose yes it will fail again.

  I read in another bug report to do this on the shell for more information:
    sudo /usr/lib/update-notifier/package-data-downloader

  The following is partially translated from another language:
