The golang-1.8 package cannot install /usr/bin/go because it needs to be
coinstallable with other golang-1.X packages. If you want to use a non
default version of Go, you can put it's /usr/lib/go-1.X/bin directory on
your $PATH.

Bug description:
  I installed the golang-1.8 meta package and noticed there is no go
  binary in the path.

  The file list shows that binaries is put into /usr/lib
